One-day General License Upgrade Classes

If you live in the central Texas area, HOTARC can assist you in upgrading to your General Class amateur radio license! Morse code is no longer required!

After you complete a little "pre-study" homework, HOTARC members will deliver a full day of classroom instruction and lively demonstrations: Saturday May 5 at the Heart of Texas Council of Governments (HOTCOG) building at 1514 S. New Road in Waco (across from the Waco ISD sports complex).

To earn the General Class amateur radio license, the FCC only requires that you score 75% or better on a 35-question multiple-choice test—that's all! Following our recommended study technique and attending our one-day class—with demonstrations, hands-on activities with actual ham-radio equipment, and review of the more difficult test questions—will "bring to life" the concepts you'll study in the text, and almost guarantee you'll achieve this goal.

You will need some time to digest the material, so we have arranged to have HOTARC's Volunteer Examiners administer the FCC exam the following afternoon—Sunday, May 6. Stay tuned for more details about this.

Seating for the class will be limited! We ask that you pre-register, obtain your study materials, and complete the pre-study work before the May 5 session. The course fee will be only $25: covering the cost of your text materials, lunch, snacks, supplies, etc. Preregistration and course fee are required by April 28. Click the "Register online now" button to take the next exciting step in amateur radio!
